"See the darkness that covers the earth and the darkness over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and His glory appears over you" Isaiah 60:2
Research project: DONE!! The effects of hippotherapy on gait characteristics in children with cerebral palsy: A systematic review. I could not have asked for a better group of female therapists to work together and complete this masterpiece. Third place y'all!
Third anniversary: check! Steven took me to The Veranda in Starkville to celebrate (that is where he proposed). His romanticism exceeds mine tenfold.
Beach trip #1 with Jimi and Garrett Brown. We went to Gulf Shores, AL for the weekend and could barely get in the water because of all the jellyfish. It was quite funny to watch the people in the water run out of the water scratching their limbs because of stings.
Rednecks directing traffic + rookie canoe paddler + shallow Okatoma = very stressful husband and wife life group trip. Happy birthday, Jonathan! I risked my life for you.
Joined the church choir at Ridgecrest Baptists church. I think the only eras on they let me in is so they could have someone to challenge in next year's hula hoop competition.
Starting off our last semester of classes right with a traditional trip to a Mississippi Braves game. These people are family.
Attended my first LSU football game to watch my soon-to-be sister-in-law perform at preface and halftime. Intimidating and exhilarating. Glad I didn't have to leave the game status-post puke from the second deck in the first quarter.
First home game of the year. White out game. Finally got my husband to wear one of State's colors. He looks excited... #hailstate
Baby shower for Kelly and baby Breeland at the end of our last semester of classes. Once again, these girls are family. This was the night before our giant Capstone case study was due... Which is the main reason why half of the ladies from the class are not pictured.
Last home game of the year. The Veteran's day halftime show is my all-time favorite. And it holds special meaning now that my little brother is in the military. Very moving performance honoring our veterans and those who defend our country today. It makes me very proud that "Dylan's sister" is my claim to fame. #proudsister
If I weren't a PT, I'd be... Pregnant? I sang karaoke for the first time this night. It wasn't a pretty sight. But it was a great party filled with many laughs and great memories.
My amazing husband took me to Chicago in December of 2013. What an amazing city! We had so much fun. Chicago was beautiful with a fresh coat of snow on the ground. We hit the Field Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the tower formally known as Sears Tower, the bean, Navy Pier, and a Blue Man Group show where I got pulled on stage. It was absolutely amazing, and we will be returning.
Then this happened... My brother proposed to a wonderful young lady who I will be happy to call sister on June 21, 2014. All that needs to be said is... "I was right".
For Christmas, Steven's awesome mother-in-law got him tickets to see the Saints play in New Orleans. A dream come true for him, and he got to see Drew Brees at his finest.
Kendal got pregnant...
And had a sweet little miracle baby boy, Owen. He is living proof of this power of prayer. And I am apparently living proof of handling projectile vomit like a champ. I am so in love with this sweet little angel. He is stronger than he looks, and has already overcome so much. Not to mention, he has some pretty awesome parents.
Then Jennifer Rigby got married. Once again, weddings are reunions. She was absolutely stunning and happiness was radiating from the couple all evening.
I moved to Memphis, TN for 8 weeks to finish my last clinic rotation at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. I had an awesome roommate (once again), and I learned so much about physical therapy, about myself and about my capabilities. I had a blast, and I so loved living with my J again. It was like time had stood still while ewe were apart. We can always pick up where we left off. #foreversister
Steven's indoor show 2014: Reimagine. I am always prideful when it comes to my husband's talent. However, this show exceeded all of my expectations. What an entertaining and challenging show for Steven and the students! And on a bittersweet note, what a great show to close out a great four years at Madison Central. I am sure that I speak for both of us when I say that we have been overwhelmingly blessed with the students and the parents of the percussion section of the Madison Central band. Our future encounters with students and parents have some very large shoes to fill. Thank you for making each moment at MCHS so memorable and worth all of the hard work and long hours. #foreverjaguar
Anniversary 4: Steven took me to Rocky Springs, Mississippi where we picnicked in the sand, explored and discovered that Sully areas very capable of bringing the entire sand bank back to Ridgeland with him.
My best friend of almost 15 years was married to the best guy in April 2014. I am so happy for her, and very blessed and honored to call her a dear friend after all of these years and everything we have been through. This is definitely a life long friendship that God has blessed immensely.
Last day in the SHRP building with the best study group ever.
Dave Matthews concert in Dallas, TX.
A surprise graduation party for yours truly. Check the shirts. My family is awesome. My friends are awesome. I am very blessed.
Graduation and commissioning will have to happen in another post. I think the summary of the past year is enough for this one. What an awesome and unforgettable year. Looking forward to what God has in store for the Rosses now! Stay strong, pray hard, and God bless.
